Darjeeling Gopaldhara Tea Estate

Black tea, India

This spring Darjeeling reflects the vigor of the plant which wakes up gently without astringency or bitterness, that's what I liked. It has fresh notes of coriander seed, a zesty and sweet almond facet. It comes from the Gopaldhara tea estate, located northwest of the town of Darjeeling, at the foot of the Himalayas. It belongs to the Saria family since 1955 which also owns the Rohini Tea Estate that you had the opportunity to discover last year. Gopaldhara Tea Estate is spread over 175 ha planted with old tea plants of more than 100 years old next to young tea plants of about 20 years old. This lot, a DJ29 grade FTGFOP1, was harvested in March from a blend of old and young tea plants.
