Cui Lü wulong tea - Roches de l'Ellé

Cyan or wulong tea, Brittany

Crafted from the Cuilü cultivar, this wulong tea was produced in 2025 under the attentive hands of Jakez Hubert, creator of the  Roches de l'Ellé tea garden in southern Finistère, Brittany. The plantation unfolds in a wooded, rolling landscape near the spectacular granite chaos of the Roches du Diable, where the Éllé river winds its way through ancient rock formations.

Inspired by traditional Chinese methods, Jakez Hubert handcrafts each batch, following the seven classic steps of wulong making, while adding his personal touch: hand-picking, outdoor withering, indoor withering (alternating cycles of agitation and rest), enzyme fixation, rolling, drying, and finally roasting.

The process unfolds over time : around 72 hours to produce the maocha (raw tea), then several weeks to several months of careful roasting, gradually unveiling the tea’s full aromatic complexity.

Its aromatic bouquet is fresh and flowery with soft vegetal notes, a flowery bouquet and an almost milky background due to its low oxidation and its light roasting, its texture is velvety caressing the palate. A true delight !

It will turn out to be ideally prepared for gong fu cha
