This vintage comes from forest tea plants abandoned since the Soviet collapse in 1991. These tea plants flourished for 30 years under a canopy of acacias, providing gentle shade that allows for the production of young, aromatic shoots with supple tannins.
Two brothers, Grigoli and Elguja, run this forest tea garden called Anditri Tea Estate, located near the town of Terjola in the Imereti region. The latter is one of the four main tea-producing regions on Georgia's west coast.
This spring tea develops a velvety tannic structure in the cup, with woody, spicy and honeyed notes, all in a smooth finish, with a bright amber liquor color with orange highlights.
