This tea comes from Giorgi's plantation near Shemokmedi, which covers 4 hectares in the hilly region of Guria. It is close to that of our friends Nika and Baaka, their plantation being located on the other side.
I have been following Giorgi's work for several years now, but I had not yet marketed his teas.
I am very happy to offer you 2 of its spring vintages. This one is a black tea that I called Shavi which means black in Georgian, from a fine harvest 1 bud and 1 leaf. In the cup, it develops woody, fruity and honeyed notes with a refreshing persistence and its bright liquor has golden amber highlights. It reminds me of certain teas called honey black tea coming from the Taiwanese east coast.
