This teapot was produced in Tokoname. It is made of unglazed clay. It features a stainless steel infuser with very fine holes, making it ideal for brewing Japanese teas as gyokuro, sencha, kukicha or hojicha.
Tokoname is a small coastal town in Japan near Nagoya that has specialized in pottery production for centuries. In just a few decades, it has become a major center for the production of very high-quality teapots and tea accessories. There are several teapot factories in Tokoname, but also around fifty independent potters who produce some of the finest tea ceramics.
